So the other day I was watching a behind the scenes video on the Chris Burkard film, Under an Arctic Sky.
By the way, this is a great documentary on what big time photography journeys are like. I highly recommend it!
Anyways, here’s the video:
In the video there’s a quote on photographers that are forced to keep up with new technology that’s always increasing.
That got me thinking… Photographers have been so far ahead of gear for so long and wished for the technology to catch up, but now we have switched and we are keeping up with the gear.
That isn’t a bad thing either! In fact, it’s awesome!
The time has come, however, that photographers need to re-think the way they use their new technology rather than keep up with it.
There’s a huge difference in the two factors.
Take the Sony a7riii for example… It shoots at 32000 ISO. That’s ridiculous. We can literally shoot 24 hours per day now.
Now we are at a huge hinge moment in photography to think about shooting with new technology more intelligently.
